Brief info
Robert James is a singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist and solo producer of original music from Montreal Canada. He's always been passionate about music creation and is from a musical family. His son, Christer James and 4 brothers, Ron, Allen, John, Brian, all are musicians. His sisters also draw and paint. Robert was inspired by artists like, Roxy Music, King Crimson, Allan Holdsworth, Gentle Giant, Brian Eno, The Who, Pink Floyd and David Bowie just to name a few. Coming from a large artistic family of seven siblings, he started an original three piece rock band in the mid seventies called "SNO " { Basement band }. The group was composed of , his brother, Ronnie James, on Drums, his friend, Danny Carpenter, musician, song writer on guitars, and himself on bass. They experimented playing only original music and to this day they still occasionally get together and jam at Danny's home studio in Montreal.
Around the early 80's he also collaborated with another friend of his Brian Letual, a musician, song writer and drummer, they recorded a few songs together at his home studio in Montreal and also teamed up with two other musicians to form a band called 4x4. The group played a couple of gigs alongside cover songs with a few originals while keeping to their day jobs. After a few years Robert decided to collaborate with his younger brother Allen James, musician, song writer, on writing music and creating songs.They've released some music and more is announced in the near future. He hopes to keep making great music with his family, Christer James, Danny Carpenter, Brian Letual, Ronnie James, Brian James, John James, and Allen James.
