Brief info
Keith Smith AKA Detroit Cowboy is an artist and music producer originally from Detroit. He currently resides in Lathrup Village, Michigan, United States. Born and raised in a family with musical talent, Keith has always been involved with music. His passion for music grew, watching his mother and sister sing while playing instruments like the piano. In addition to the piano, he also learnt how to play the guitar and lots of instruments. The passion became even stronger watching musical groups like the Jackson 5 at the time. Growing up, he just knew he had to make a career in music and he started putting singing groups together.
Keith was only about 12 years old when he started writing his own originals. His first song was very raunchy. It was titled, we smoke and we're hip. He formed a group called The Pussycats and his sister later on changed the name to Unlimited Sounds of Soul. Back in high school, he played at local venues and also participated in talent shows as well as music competitions. One of his songs titled Hello, won second place with Timothy Meadows from SNL accompanying him on the sax. Keith also helped Phredly Brown (Music Director for Bruno Mars) as a young teenager learn Studio Recording.
Keith has spent 2 yrs in the US Army, 101st Airborne Division. He is now retired from the Post Office and currently plays with Lady K and the Star Band in Detroit. Influenced by artists like Michael Jackson, and Prince, he produced the Lp FLY ZONE which is composed of songs that are not only entertaining but also deep with a new futurist approach.
Keith also loves dancing, he keeps his passions alive and is always working on something new and more exciting. His latest single "Bang Bang Bang" is currently trending on our airwaves and he still hold the #2 spot on the Glacer Underground music channel charts with his greatest hit titled "Detroit Cowboy".
