Brief info

Jerard is an artist with so much talent as he wears the hats of an entrepreneur, artist, songwriter, singer, and philanthropist. He is a strong believer that music is a universal language, and it’s something that is meant to educate, empower, and connect with others. Jerard’s wide array of projects reflect his passion and ingenuity.
Jerard is also a graduate student along with being the co-founder of Hustle Work Grind Records with his brother M-Ezy. He spends his time in the studio making music that matters. Jerard is called a neo artist because he loves combining real life experience whether it be his own, or a lesson he learned in a movie, and depict it from a different perspective. Jerard has performed at many notable live shows. They include the 2018 Beats and Barbeque opened for Styles P and Sky Zoo and the Easter Seals Benefit. His first released single, “Bet On It,” is an example of the determination and hope held by Jerard.

Have you always been interested in music?
What is your story and how did you start making music? Music allowed me to process my feelings through some very difficult times in my life. Learning how to negivate feelings or difficulties that no one understands is what music gave me. I started out writing poetry and was apart of thenpoetry club during my Freshman year of college.
I’m not privileged therefore I worked for everything and sometimes I felt like I had to work harder.
I alwYs had bars but my flow was something else, but I stayed true to my brother M-away and I work ethic (Hustle Work Grind) co-owner with my brother and mission is hard work consistency and stay grinding equals success. It’s a way of life.
I made music with my brother but I wanted to do something a little different although I’m an old school artist I wanted that flair that would attract everyone no matter the age.

What are you working on now? Any future releases we can look forward to?
Currently I am working on my project Riding With Blindfolds which will release in 2020. My brother and I are working on “Stul My Wave M-EZY ft Ruce and Dennis. Which is also due to release next year. We’re .
Songs round it up and Stuntin For Da Money have nothing been on the indie network radio show.
Lyrical visual for Stuntin for da money is on indie artst discove. Stuntin is charting on the OEIMC in the top 20.

What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry?
My goal is use my music as a platform to reach the masses. My music has a message primarily don’t be a victim of circumstance, rise above and slide through the obstacles .

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?
Finding the right producer or engineer that truly cares about your product because it is his work. Working with people whom your goals aren’t aligned and the project never reaches its potential.
How do you go about writing a song? Do you have a melody in your head and then write the other music for it or what’s Your typical songwriting process? A bet literally speaks to me. When I’m going through something or feel inspired I listen to beats and start writing to the melody of the beats.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
I am a business student, therefore the internet has allowed indie artist to grow their exposure and even reach the right people to put your music in front of. Market and promoting is key to success especially since the amount of music produced is vast.

What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?
I started making music in highs achool but I played sports as well football and basketball ball and live video games.

Would you have any advice for young people wanting to follow in your footsteps?
It’s hard work but can be so rewarding. Music is just a part of what I do as an artist, community events such as co-organizing BLM. Music gave me a voice that allows me to lead and
Feel confident in who I am as a Man.

If you could change anything about the music industry, what would it be?
There is so much information that it’s hard to navigate what’s valid from what’s not. It’s so competitive that it’s hard to imagine changing anything. When it’s matters the music industry comes together.

How do you feel about originality?
We all put our perspective and while we may be a little unique it’s all been done before it’s the late greats who have even opened the door for us pop, rap country rock who paved the way .
