Brief info

Jaime Ig Ribas is an instrumentalists from Sant Antoni De Portmany in Spain. He started his studies at the conservatory school at the age of 12, studying the primary cycle of music, and later started at a school for instrumentalists, the school for the orchestra and band of musicians in my town in Inca-Mallorca. Jaime Ig Ribas  spent about 5 years playing in the band and attending his first years of learning, both in music theory and as an instrument under the academic regime of the classical music conservatory of the Balearic Islands, a musical training that was taught at said school.

As a complement to his technique with the wind instrument, he began as a singer on the tenor string in a choir in the town of Inca, passing through various choral groups over the years, participating in numerous events of great works of the classical music, sacred music and also some modern works,.. over several years. It is worth highlighting the interesting musical project in which he participated with a choir in Berlin, singing a great work on a big stage, the Requiem of Verdi, with the Berliner Symphoniker at the Berlin Theater, in April 2011.

In 2003 he began my studies as a professional instrumentalist in a branch of the l'Aula de Barcelona, a modern music school in Mallorca, obtaining the graduation from the Berklee College of Music.

He has been for several years with various modern music groups playing different groups and styles, such as Funky, Blues, Jazz and fusion music such as Flamenco Jazz and others and he also participated in numerous projects of important local conductors, as a saxophonist in the Philharmonic and Symphony orchestra of classical and modern music.

In 2013 he began his personal training stage, in which I came face to face and alone with the instrument and its true essence, its capacity, ..., a cycle in which he began creating his own music and where he has increased his mental capacity with the sound, the body and the instrument. Jaime Ig Ribas has improved his projection to the tenor saxophone, perfecting the sound, effects of the instrument, the super highs and harmonics, the capacity for improvisation, and also to creating his own Jazz music project, A New Jazz!

Have you always been interested in music? What is your story and how did you start making music?

I started my studies at the conservatory school at the age of 12, studying the primary cycle of music, and later I started at a school for instrumentalists, the school for the orchestra and band of musicians in my town in Inca-Mallorca, where I spent about 5 years playing in the band and attending my first years of learning, both in music theory and as an instrument under the academic regime of the classical music conservatory of the Balearic Islands, a musical training that was taught at said school.

I’m working in a new jazz Album called, SOME ENERGY BALANCE, and others Singles.

What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry?

I’m working in a jazz band, and I would like to get make a direct concerts, and record my music with this jazz band.

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?

In 2013, when I began my personal training stage, in which I came face to face and alone with the instrument and its true essence, its capacity, …, a cycle in which I began creating my own music, and where I have increased my mental capacity with the sound, the body and the instrument, improving my projection to the Tenor saxophone, perfecting the sound, effects of the instrument, …, the super highs and harmonics, …, the capacity for improvisation, and also to creating my own Jazz music project, A New Jazz.

How do you go about writing a song? Do you have a melody in your head and then write the other music for it or what’s Your typical songwriting process?

My technics, is investigate the many and infinites different scales and rhythmites, and start the confection of the music.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?

I’ll see in the future.
