Interview With Craymo
Have you always been interested in music? What is your story and how did you start making music?
I have always been interested in music since I saw The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show and by watching Elvis Presley in his movies!
I started a band in high school writing my first songs. I sang in the school chorus and played saxophone in Junior and Senior band and performed in musicals in High School. I had the itch to go to California to be a rock star and movie star! I found a record producer and started recording.
What are you working on now? Any future releases we can look forward to?
I am working on a funky cover version of “Last Christmas” by Wham that’ll be out on November. Then I have a dance song called “Out of My Mind” which will probably be next!
What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry?
To make as many people happy as I can with my music. To make the world a better place one song at a time.
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?
Marketing and getting heard by new fans. The world has been inundated with so many new artists releasing their music every day. It’s hard to be found in that endless sea.
How do you go about writing a song? Do you have a melody in your head and then write the other music for it or what’s Your typical songwriting process?
I usually have the melody in my head first, then come the lyrics. Sometimes the words come first. Inspiration comes when it comes, you have to be prepared to accept it in whatever form! I actually like to collaborate with other artists and producers, you get a cool vibe and tons of inspiration working with creative people.
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
The internet has exploded opportunities for artists. You can discover artists and their music from all over the world.
List some famous musicians currently on your playlist?
Kylie Minoge, Duran Duran, Robyn, Billy Idol, Robbie Williams, One Republic, Wil i am
What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?
I was a radio and nightclub DJ. I have always surrounded myself with music. I also have been a waiter…
Would you have any advice for young people wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Believe in yourself and your talent. Work on your confidence but don’t be cocky! You have to believe in yourself before you can expect anyone else to. Be patient, it can be a long, hard road but don’t give up!
If you could change anything about the music industry, what would it be?
People are opening up more to independent music, that’s a good start.
How do you feel about originality?
I think it’s important. There will always the copycats and soundalikes for most popular music. Be original, you have something special that no one else has. Be you, be original.
Is there anything else we should know about you? or Something that you would like to add?
I wanna go on a world tour!
