Brief info
Dave Curl is an independent singer-songwriter with English-Australian roots, born and raised in Switzerland. Since 2015, he has been writing and performing original music that blends folk, acoustic, indie rock, and pop with emotional depth and cinematic storytelling. His songwriting is often inspired by real-life moments — small scenes that reveal larger truths.
Thirty years ago, while studying in Zürich, Dave wrote the first draft of “Zueri.” On his way to university, he would pass an elderly man playing Bob Dylan songs for coins — just meters away from the luxury of Bahnhofstrasse. The contrast between visible poverty and immense wealth deeply affected him. Three decades later, the gap between rich and poor has not disappeared — it has widened. Revisiting the song became inevitable.
“Zueri” combines Swiss-German verses with an English chorus, reflecting Zürich’s local roots and international character. The track was recorded at KO Recording Arts in Rodgau and features Antonio D’Amato (bass), Dario (drums), and Mathias Lunde (guitars), bringing raw, edgy energy to the production. From songwriting to studio production to music video concept, Dave Curl works independently — driven by authenticity, emotional honesty, and social awareness.
