Anjela Abelian is a London Camden-based jazz/contemporary singer and songwriter. She now introduces her original composition, "Strawberries," released on 2nd June, just in time for strawberries season. This catchy song carries a jazzy, summary, sensual vibe with luscious vocals. The production features the exceptional talents of renowned London jazz musicians. With roots deeply embedded in the jazz genre, Anjela Abelian ventures into contemporary territory in her songwriting. She embraces the pure essence of the song form, transcending genres.
Anjela's passion for her craft is evident in her relentless pursuit of growth, having studied under esteemed vocal coaches from both the UK and the US. She holds Entertainment Law degree and enjoyed career in media/TV for the likes of National Geographic channel and Fox, but it was always music she had a passion for. It was during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic that she devoted herself to honing her songwriting skills. This dedication led to her participation in an international online community of songwriters, and her composition “Strawberries” achieved recognition as a semi-finalist in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition.
She previously released two singles of her originals: jazzy & witty A Cup of Coffee, and lyrical ballad It's OK to Cry - the latter deeply influenced by the current state of the world. To celebrate the release of "Strawberries," Anjela Abelian hosted a showcase at the iconic Green Note in Camden, an event that left audiences captivated by the mix of jazz standards, her original music and mesmerising stage presence.
