This Mary Stokes Band ‘as live’ album ‘Comin’ Home’ was a response to the Global pandemic, and the real, daily impact on live gigging. In the long history of The Mary Stokes Band live gigs have been an essential, fundamental ingredient – recognising that it is through live shows that the Blues is best shared. Mary Stokes connects with her audience in every venue and country, engaging the energy, passion and shared humanity that is the heart of the Blues. The Mary Stokes Band have recorded and released 11 independent albums; however, the release of Comin’ Home album was unique. Recorded while rehearsing for a gig in Ireland; with the freedom to ‘play as a unit’, this recording had energy, edge, and some ‘raw’ power. With the onset of ‘lockdown’ Mary’s partner (originally from Connecticut USA) Brian Palm revisited the tracks, engaged an empathic engineer effectively captures the energy and passion for which my band is known.
